Where did Stasiuk’s mother get the money for the apartment?

Journalists asked Valentyna Stasiuk how much she paid for the apartment. She replied that she no longer remembers the exact amount. When asked where the money came from, she said that she and her husband had funds and also suggested checking what her father (the judge) does for work.

According to tax service documents, Valentyna Stasiuk’s total income from 1998 to 2019 year was slightly more than 2 million hryvnias. She is a bookkeeper and has worked for two enterprises in recent years.

After Valentyna Stasiuk’s words, journalists checked her husband Vasyl Stasiuk’s income as well. He works as a professor at the Department of Military Psychology at the National University of Defense of Ukraine. In 1998 – 2019 years, the couple together earned nearly 7 million hryvnias in income. Journalists also attempted to obtain an explanation from Serhiy Stasiuk himself, but the judge did not respond to questions.
