Russia Is Using a New Tactic of Strikes on the Energy Sector: Ukrenergo Explained the Reason for the Outages

According to energy sector workers, the Russians are now focusing on strikes on lines that deliver electricity to consumers. This forces specialists to seek alternative routes to power cities.

Electricity has to be transmitted over hundreds of kilometers, which was never anticipated by any projects,

Because of constant shelling, power lines must be rerouted via backup routes. That is why, since the beginning of October, residents of several regions have been facing local power supply limitations.

The situation is also complicated by constant air raid alerts, which hinder energy workers from promptly restoring damaged facilities.

The company emphasized that careful electricity consumption will help reduce the load on the grid and shorten the duration of forced blackouts.

The enemy is attempting not only to damage local networks but also to isolate whole regions. As Ivan Plachkov stated, the occupiers are deliberately striking high-voltage supports and transitions across the Dnipro River to split the power system into left-bank and right-bank parts.

As a reminder, we previously reported that journalists gained access to a secret Russian plan. According to that document, the aggressor intends to destroy up to 90% of electricity and heat supply in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa, by attacking substations and critical nodes of nuclear power plants.
