Ukraine imposed new sanctions: restrictions target ballistic producers and collaborators

Ukraine imposed sanctions against Russian entities involved in the production of ballistic missiles and in facilitating sanctions evasion in the financial sector. Restrictions were also imposed on individuals acting in Russia’s interests in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Who the new sanctions target

The decrees implementing the decisions of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine were signed by Volodymyr Zelenskyy, according to the Office of the President website.

The first sanctions list included 70 Russians. They are involved in the manufacture of Iskander-M and Zircon ballistic missiles. It is these missiles that Russia uses to carry out massive strikes on Ukrainian cities and communities, killing people and destroying infrastructure.

In response to the attacks, Ukraine is imposing sanctions on key employees of enterprises of the Russian military-industrial complex and the chemical industry who participate in organizing the continuous industrial cycle for ballistic production.

Among them are employees of the Votkinsk Plant, the V. V. Bakhirev Institute of Mechanical Engineering, the companies Radar MMS, Granit-Electron, Anozit, Aviatek, Metafrax Chemicals, Altai, Nevinnomyssk Azot, Azot, the plants Salut, Strila, VNIIR-Progress, Mashinostroitel, Avangard, the Sverdlov and Morozov plants, the Voskresensky Aggregate Plant, as well as the research institutes Polus and Submikron.

Attention! All these enterprises are already under sanctions by Ukraine and, in part, by the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, Canada, and New Zealand.

Ukraine plans to work with partners not only on the full synchronization of sanctions against these entities, but also against their key employees.

Enterprises that produce Iskanders and Zircons have long been under sanctions by Ukraine and most partners. But rockets are assembled by specific people: engineers, technologists, production managers. Now we are adding them to the sanctions list as well, 70 the key workers in the missile chain, from chemical plants that supply fuel and explosive components to the assembly workshops in Votkinsk. Everyone who makes missiles for strikes on Ukrainian cities must understand: responsibility is personal, and it will not be avoided.

The sanctions package includes individuals who help Russia evade sanctions in the financial sphere, 28 natural persons and 27 legal entities. Among them are companies operating crypto exchanges, cryptocurrency exchange services, and their executives and owners.

Restrictions were also imposed on the leaders and owners of companies belonging to the shadow banking network A7 that publicly offer tools to circumvent financial sanctions.

Note! The United States previously imposed sanctions on the A7 network.

In another decision, sanctions were applied to:

against 10 natural persons and 21 a legal entity;

and also against two maritime vessels that are accomplices of Russia and operate in its interests in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

They finance this unprovoked and aggressive war by Russia against Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, steal our natural resources, and spread Russian propaganda,

the Office of the President website says.

These include, in particular, collaborators who serve the aggressor.

Also among them are enterprises that provide internet and television services, conduct geological exploration, and manufacture electronics and metal products in the territories of Ukraine temporarily occupied by Russia.

Recall that on Monday, 12 October, the European Union implemented its largest expansion of the sanctions list against Russia. The list included nearly 1 600 new entries.
