The European Commission Reveals New Details of Talks with the US and Ukraine in Miami

Representatives of the European Union during talks on peace in Ukraine, which took place last week in Miami, conveyed to the United States their position on unwavering support for Ukrainians.

“First and foremost, this is about conveying our position, our very clear position on Ukraine to the United States. This was done already on Friday during these talks in Miami with our American partners, where we were represented, sat at the table, and where our full and unwavering support for Ukraine was again confirmed,” said Pino. According to her, the main goal of the negotiations was to advance toward a sustainable and long-term peace in Ukraine. At the same time, the EC representative did not disclose more detailed particulars of the discussions between the Americans, EU representatives, and Ukrainians. The sides were trying to achieve progress in the context of a peaceful settlement. “The Commission participated in these negotiations, and we see this as a positive step precisely toward ending the war in Ukraine,” she added. In the dialogue, the Americans were represented by Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, and the Ukrainians were represented by the head of the SBU Kyrylo Budanov, the head of the SSR Rustem Umerov, Deputy Head of the Office Serhiy Kislytsia, and the leader of the Servant of the People fraction in the Rada, David Arakhamiya. According to media reports, the talks in Miami ended prematurely because the United States decided to strike a diesel deal with Russia and suspend part of the sanctions against the aggressor country.

President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the Ukrainian team in the United States was used as a screen for such arrangements.
