Ukraine launches digital service 'Energy Independence Map' to check buildings' readiness for power outages

Ukraine has launched the digital service "Energy Independence Map," which shows the level of residential buildings' preparedness for the heating season and emergency power outages.

This was reported by the Ministry for Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport of Ukraine.

The service displays whether a building is equipped with generators, inverters, or solar panels. You can also find out whether heating, elevators, water supply, and internet continue to operate during a power outage.

In addition, the online map is integrated with the government portal "yeOpora." This allows users to view available state and regional support and financing programs for the energy modernization of a specific building, including the "SvitloDIM" program, grants, or loans.

For security reasons, the map publishes only general data about the presence of backup power without detailed technical specifications.

Representatives of condominium associations (OSBB) or housing maintenance offices (ZHEK) can update the information via a feedback form.

"This map will become a practical and safe tool that helps people see the level of buildings' energy resilience. Integrating programs from the 'yeOpora' platform makes it even more useful: now, when a person views a building, they can not only assess the current preparedness and measures already taken, but also immediately view the support programs available to them for further modernization," said Ihor Reva, Deputy Minister for Restoration, Infrastructure and Transport for Digitalization.
