Epicenter in Ukraine destroyed – Russia attacked the last hub in Khmelnytskyi 13 October

Russians on Tuesday, 13 October, destroyed the last large Epitsentr logistics distribution center, which was located in Khmelnytskyi. The enemy attacked the facility ten times during the day, resulting in five large fires and the destruction of almost all merchandise.

What is known about Epitsentr’s downfall

“Today the enemy hit it ten times in one day. It seemed they wanted to make sure there would be nothing left after them… In the end, the enemy achieved their goal — about 85% of the goods stored inside were destroyed. About thirty drones in the air prevented extinguishing the fire. Most importantly — all our people are alive. And this is the biggest relief today,” the message says.

The company noted that earlier the Russians had completely destroyed two of the largest logistics complexes, which were in Kyiv and Kyiv region. However, the distribution center in Khmelnytskyi remained effectively the only large warehouse complex of the company that survived.

In particular, it was from here that goods were shipped to the company’s shopping centers. And people worked at this facility so that millions of Ukrainians could buy what they needed. But now the last large hub has been destroyed and “for the company this is a blow, the scale of which is hard to grasp,” to quote the company.

“This is not just lost goods. This is a ruined logistics system, huge financial losses, months and years of work by thousands of people. And you know what the hardest part is? Realizing that behind every such attack is not only the destruction of buildings. It is a blow to the Ukrainian business’s ability to operate, pay salaries, preserve jobs, and support the country’s economy. We have had to start from scratch so many times that it seems we should be used to it. But one cannot get used to something like this. Because it is an incredibly hard blow. The only thing that keeps us going is that in this terrible attack none of our people were harmed,” the company summarized.
