In Kyiv, a building of the Accounting Chamber damaged as a result of shelling

As a result of Russian shelling of Kyiv, one of the buildings of the Accounting Chamber was damaged. Equipment and other property were damaged inside, and a security guard was injured. He did not require hospitalization. This was reported by Olga Pischanska, the head of the Accounting Chamber, according to Luhom.

According to her, this is the third damage to this building since the start of the full-scale war. Specialists are currently assessing the damage and eliminating the consequences of the strike.

The damaged building housed about 100 employees of the Accounting Chamber. It housed two audit departments – for the state budget, financial institutions and debt, as well as the humanitarian and social sphere. In addition, the territorial department of the Accounting Chamber in Kyiv was operating in the premises.

Because the building is temporarily unfit for work, the leadership of the institution is organizing working spaces for staff in other premises.

“The building is temporarily unsuitable for work, so we are promptly organizing working spaces for colleagues in other premises,” Pischanska said.

Despite the consequences of the shelling, the institution continues to carry out its powers. Pischanska emphasized that during the war, oversight over the use of state funds is especially important, since effective budget management determines the provision of the country’s primary needs and its financial stability.

The head of the Accounting Chamber thanked the staff for their endurance and professionalism and expressed hope that the premises will be restored as soon as possible.

As a reminder, in the night against 19 October, the enemy carried out ballistic strikes on the capital. The consequences were recorded in at least three city districts. In Desnianskyi district, a non-residential building was on fire, cars and a subway station were damaged. A person was found dead at the fire scene. In Solomianskyi district, a fire occurred in a medical facility, the facade and glazing of a high-rise building were damaged. In Dniprovskiy district, an educational institution was damaged.

Also as a result of the shelling, the Cosmo Multimall shopping center was damaged. In particular, the roof and building structures were damaged, and part of the superstructure collapsed. Following the night attack, equipment and the infrastructure of the Datagroup data center were completely rendered inoperable.
