In Ukraine an 21 alternative bridge crossing will appear: when to expect its launch – Suspicions

Kalyashnyk noted that in the last month, during mass strikes on bridges, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Kharkiv have suffered damage.

Ukraine plans to build an 21 alternative bridge crossing to ensure uninterrupted transport links in the event of Russian attacks on bridges. This was stated by Infrastructure and Recovery Minister Mykola Kalyashnyk during a question hour to the government, reported by Hlavkom.

As Kalyashnyk noted, in the last month, mass strikes on bridges have affected Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.

“Construction works in Kyiv have already begun. The first bridges will operate at the beginning of the year,” the minister announced. These projects will be implemented by the state.

Recall that in Kyiv they plan to create backup routes to connect the left and right banks of the Dnipro in case of damage or blockage of bridges. This involves causeway dams with pontoon crossings. Simultaneously, a more ambitious option is being considered – building a tunnel under the Dnipro.

People's Deputy, Deputy Head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Transport and Infrastructure Vladimir Kreidanko noted that despite modern technologies, building backup crossings will require time.
