Appointment was made upon Syvrydenko’s recommendation, from whose team Berezhna emerged; the cultural community greeted the lawyer with no specialized background with restraint. A daughter, born in December 2025, was named Osaka — after the Expo; the minister returned to work on the fifth day after giving birth.

The front against the Russian Federation in culture

In office, she leads a campaign against Russia's return to the 2026 Venice Biennale (joint statements with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, initiatives for sanctions against curators of the Russian pavilion), commissioner of the Ukrainian pavilion, promotes the patronage law and the Heritage Preservation Fund.
