Dmytro Dubilet: role in the PrivatBank schemes and the London court

The Credit Committee of PrivatBank, through which suspicious loan transactions were conducted, was chaired by then Chairman Oleksandr Dubilet. His son Dmytro held the position of IT Director of the bank. After nationalization, they, along with other former managers (Horokhovskyi, Yatsenko, and others), founded "Fintech Band." According to the court's conclusion, this group controlled 10% of the bank's capital and carried out the instructions of Ihor Kolomoiskyi and Hennadiy Boholiubov.

Embezzlement of over 17 billion hryvnias

According to the prosecution's version, on the eve of nationalization, top officials, including Oleksandr Dubilet, embezzled $315 million (8.2 billion UAH) through forged documents and fictitious lending in favor of the affiliated company Claresholm Marketing Ltd.

Additionally, Oleksandr Dubilet senior has been declared wanted in the case of embezzlement of 9.2 billion UAH (episode involving Ihor Kolomoiskyi). The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) has already permitted the extradition of the suspect to Ukraine. Currently, he is in Israel, denying the fact of evading investigation.

Withdrawal of assets through Monobank before the suspicion notice

On February 23, 2021, immediately after receiving a suspicion notice from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), Oleksandr Dubilet transferred his 33.74% share in the company "Fintech Band" (owner of Monobank) to his son Oleksii. Thus, the assets were re-registered within the family, and Dmytro Dubilet remained in the structure as one of the founders.

Conflict of interest: minister and his father's case

From August 29, 2019, to March 4, 2020, Dmytro Dubilet served as Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers. This indicates a direct conflict of interest, as during this same period his father was attempting to legally challenge the nationalization of PrivatBank through the courts.
