Deputy Minister of Justice with 25 years of experience
Olena Ferens is a legal "systemic" expert with 25 years of experience in the Ministry of Justice. Since 1998, she has been part of the justice system. Since 2016, she has served as the head of the Ministry of Justice's Department of Private Law. On April 1, 2025, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed her as Deputy Minister of Justice under Olha Stefanishyna. Stefanishyna defended the appointment, calling Ferens a "professional specialist."
Repost with the Russian flag and subscription to a Russian brand
In June 2026, Ferens reposted a video by a Russian blogger on her Instagram page — not as a story, but permanently. The video contains music in Russian about "female fate" and footage featuring the Russian flag. The blogger published the clip back in October 2025 — why the Deputy Minister reposted it eight months later is unclear. Among Ferens’ subscriptions is also an account of the Russian brand "High-Quality Coats." The official, who signs documents on behalf of the Ministry of Justice of a country at war, publicly shares content bearing Russian symbols.
Personnel scandal and "communal conflicts" in the Ministry of Justice
Ferens' Department of Private Law was part of the structure of the Ministry of Justice's Anti-Raider Board — a body that reviews complaints about illegal registrations. Publications by "Our Money" recorded internal conflicts between departments within the ministry, particularly between the Anti-Raiding Office and adjacent departments.
