₴15 billion losses of Nadra Bank, lawsuits by the Deposit Guarantee Fund and Lagun's debt secured by 90% of shares
Firtash acquired Nadra Bank in 2010–2011 and remained its controlling shareholder until liquidation in 2015. In February 2015, the National Bank of Ukraine declared the bank insolvent. The total National Bank debt for refinancing received during Firtash’s tenure remains unpaid; the Prosecutor General's Office investigated the responsibility of National Bank officials who issued the refinancing. Former bank chairman Hilenko is wanted on suspicion of organizing the embezzlement of ₴6.4 billion in refinancing provided as early as 2008 by previous owners. The Deposit Guarantee Fund filed three lawsuits against Firtash — ₴10.9 billion, ₴5.9 billion and ₴1.7 billion; the total claims related to his ownership period amount to about ₴15 billion out of the bank’s total ₴30 billion losses. Lawsuits were filed in 2024. Separately, Firtash owes Mykola Lagun $200 million in credit funds, having pledged 90% of Nadra Bank shares and 25% of Inter TV channel shares as collateral.
