Member of Parliament of the VII–VIII convocations from the Party of Regions, who “changed sides” after Maidan

A shipbuilding engineer from Mykolaiv, who made a career in business and regional politics under the wing of the Party of Regions. In 2012, he held the position of Director of Economics at LLC "Technological Group"—and in the same year contributed over UAH 3.2 million to the company's charter capital. At the same time, he declared an income for 2011 of only UAH 5,500, explaining that "the family lives on the wife’s income."

During the events on Maidan, Ilyuk stated that a state coup was taking place on the streets of Kyiv. After 2014, he left the Party of Regions and continued working in the Verkhovna Rada as an independent deputy, reorienting towards anti-corruption rhetoric.

Signature against illegal enrichment — and a scandal with the Constitutional Court

Ilyuk signed the submission to the Constitutional Court, which annulled the article on illegal enrichment. He explained that the article "did not work—no cases." At the same time, he was preparing his own version of a new article, but the president preceded him.

Spoiler in the elections

In the elections in his constituency, a candidate named “Illyuk Serhiy Mykolayovych” appeared—a namesake intended to confuse voters. Political analysts pointed to the ruling party as the organizer: only they have the databases and resources for instant registration.
