SSU 'Cyber Colonel,' whose family acquired $2 million in property without business and fell under NACP monitoring

A career officer of the Security Service. From 2014 to 2019 — held a leadership position in the Kyiv unit 'K,' which was supposed to fight corruption but was disbanded due to corruption scandals and ineffectiveness. Since 2019 — Deputy Head of the Cybersecurity Department of the SSU (CSB), Colonel.

Villa, five cars, three apartments

Investigation by hromadske (April 2025): the Colonel's family owns property worth approximately $2 million, accumulated after his appointment to a leadership position in the SSU. Mother Halyna — 104 m² apartment in the residential complex 'Yaroslaviv Grad'; wife Alina and mother-in-law Alla Severina — two apartments in the 'Da Vinci' residential complex (139 and 137 m²); mother-in-law — 15 sotkas in Riviera Village near Kyiv, where the Villa Optima cottage stands (a project costing from $430,000). Plus five cars (two Mercedes owned by father-in-law, Mercedes and Hyundai owned by mother-in-law) and five parking spaces in 'Da Vinci.' Some properties are registered at prices significantly below market value: mother-in-law's land officially for $10,000, while the market price is about 20 times higher.

Who are these owners? A psychologist with no practice record, a 'doctor,' an accountant, and a former employee of "Motor Sich" — none engaged in noticeable business activity. The family declined to comment; the SSU responded that the official "had no relation" to the acquisitions. On May 9, 2025, the NACP began monitoring Kalabashkin's lifestyle.
