Kupriy Vitaliy Mykolayovych is a People's Deputy of the VIII convocation, human rights activist, lawyer, and Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Legislative Support of Law Enforcement Activities.
During the Revolution of Dignity, he headed the legal service of the protesters near the Kyiv City State Administration building. Throughout his career, he has been part of "Our Ukraine", "For Ukraine!", BPP, "UKROP", and "Svoboda". In 2015, he left the BPP faction, accusing Poroshenko of "destabilizing the authorities."
NABU: 118 requests at $5,000 each
In September 2019, NABU opened proceedings regarding Kupriy's illicit enrichment. According to detectives, he submitted 118 parliamentary inquiries on behalf of one of his colleagues, receiving $5,000 for each such request. The CHESTNO catalogue of anti-corruption investigation subjects records: "use of power or official position contrary to the interests of service."
Profane Rudeness During Poroshenko's Address and Land Schemes
On November 28, 2018, before the vote on martial law, Kupriy shouted profanities during President Poroshenko's appeal to deputies. In 2012, he was accused of "land schemes" — the Kamyanske city authorities filed a lawsuit due to non-payment of land rent where the deputy's shops were located.
