Maliusko Denys Leontiiovych

Record holder for tenure as Minister of Justice

Denys Leontiyovych Maliuska — Minister of Justice of Ukraine (2019–2024), People's Deputy of the IX convocation from "Servant of the People," former chair of the board of BRDO/World Bank Group. Before politics, he was affiliated with the "Reform Support Fund in Ukraine," associated with the Poroshenko administration — in 2018, the couple declared about one million hryvnias in financial support from there.

Direct control over the Anti-Raider Collegium

In 2020, "Our Money" reported that Maliuska manually changed the decisions of the Anti-Raider Collegium to the opposite in the case of the seizure of Motto gas station complexes. The Ministry of Justice defined the collegium's conclusions as advisory, thus the final word always remained with the minister — the body tasked with combating raiding effectively became subject to the minister's political decisions.

Abolition of lustration and liability for e-declarations

On May 20, 2020, Maliuska proposed abolishing the lustration of the leadership of the Communist Party of the USSR, calling it "populist." After the Constitutional Court's decision to abolish criminal liability for false declarations and the powers of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), Maliuska stated that he "did not like" the decision but was slow to restore the e-declaration system.

Scandal over the sale of a pedigree dog

In May 2020, on the Ministry of Justice's electronic auction site for seized property, a pedigree dog was put up for sale with a starting price of 112 UAH — the public and animal rights activists suspected the sale of the animal due to the owner's debts; Maliuska denied the connection to debts but did not dispute the expropriation itself.
