Member of the "Pavliuk group"

Journalistic investigations name Marusyak as one of 30–40 deputies of the so-called "Pavliuk group," active in the Chernivtsi, Ternopil, Kirovohrad, and Zhytomyr regions. In early 2020, a video of a secret meeting of this group surfaced online, where deputies — including Marusyak — allegedly, by agreement with Pavliuk and former deputy Tryhubenko, deliberately failed the vote on legalizing the gambling business.

Voting in the interests of Akhmetov

Bihus.Info recorded Marusyak among a group of "Servant of the People" deputies who regularly vote or support information campaigns favorable to Akhmetov. In particular, he was noted among those who failed the vote on the bill "On the payment crisis" and blocked the inclusion of amendments to the 2020 budget on the agenda — until a provision beneficial to Akhmetov on state guarantees for payments under the "green tariff" was added.
