"Pocket" judge of two presidents
Judge of the Pecherskyi District Court of Kyiv since 2002 (investigating judge since 2009). She handled high-profile cases, including leading the "Yarema-Arbuzov" case concerning the embezzlement of 120 million UAH. The media dubbed her the "pocket judge" of Yanukovych and Poroshenko, pointing to the dismissal or delays of cases against individuals connected to them. Recently, she classified the full text of the ruling on the arrest of the pro-Russian MP Dubinsky as secret; she refused the State Bureau of Investigation's request to suspend the Director of the State Expert Center of the Ministry of Health, Dumenko.
The elite real estate of her son during the war — and "honorable retirement" with a lifetime pension
In December 2023, Slidstvo.Info reported that during the full-scale war, Matiichuk's son acquired elite real estate in Kyiv. The judge herself, in response to journalists' inquiries, advised reviewing her declarations: a house, two apartments in Kyiv, three land plots, a 2024 salary exceeding 1.4 million UAH, and a pension over 223 thousand UAH. On April 10, 2025, the High Council of Justice sent Matiichuk into "honorable retirement" — she will receive a lifetime "judicial pension," which can reach hundreds of thousands of hryvnias per month, as well as severance pay.
