Luxury apartment worth $900,000 and a "wealthy aunt"

Investigators from the hromadske project discovered that the top official lives in luxurious apartments in the elite Kyiv residential complex "Regent Hill" in Pechersk. The market value of this property is about 900 thousand US dollars (over 37 million UAH), but there was no mention of it in his official declarations — the official stated that he rents a much more modest residence.

It turned out that the expensive apartment in the prestigious complex was officially registered to a close relative of his common-law wife (an aunt). Moreover, in the purchase agreement, the property's value was artificially understated to 1.9 million hryvnias. Journalists recorded that the official Toyota Camry with operational cover plates picked up Udovychenko every morning from the Regent Hill parking and took him to the SBI building.

Investigation by NABU and conflict of interest in the TSC

NABU and SAP launched a criminal case on suspicion of illegal enrichment by the first Deputy Director of the SBI. Simultaneously, the NACP began a full audit and lifestyle monitoring of the official. Besides asset issues, Udovychenko's name previously appeared in wiretap recordings of the former SBI Director Truba, where delicate procedural decisions in the interests of oligarchs were discussed.
