A manufacturer from Zhytomyr — five years as Poroshenko's vice-prime minister

Hennadiy Zubko is one of the typical representatives of the "regional" wing of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc: an industrialist who came to big politics through local entrepreneurship and party loyalty. Born on September 27, 1967 in Mykolaiv. Graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (automated control systems, 1991) and the Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute. In 2009, he completed postgraduate studies at the Ukrainian Research Institute "Proektstalkonstruktsiya". Before his parliamentary career, he was the chairman of the board of the Zhytomyr Plant of Enclosing Structures.

Three positions at the same time — and button printing

In the spring of 2014, the Crimean occupiers included Zubko on the list of persona non grata. In June 2014, he was appointed first deputy head of the Presidential Administration — and at the same time did not resign his deputy mandate, continuing to receive a deputy salary and be a member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Construction. He gave his voting card to others for button-mashing.

Shortly after his appointment as minister, Zubko gave Anatoly Shariy — a blogger widely accused of Kremlin propaganda — copies of documents signed by the prime minister, which discussed the revision of benefits and the abolition of free medicine and education.
