Media resource of sanctioned oligarch Kurchenko

An information-analytical portal founded in 2002 by the media holding "Evolution Media" (ultimate beneficiary — Vitaliy Haiduk). In December 2013, the entire holding along with "Comments" was acquired by Cypriot Sherell Limited, which media associate with sanctioned oligarch Serhiy Kurchenko — "Yanukovych's wallet," who fled to Russia in 2014 and is internationally wanted for laundering over 1 billion UAH and financing separatism. After the confiscation of UMH's assets and their transfer to ARMA in 2018, media assets under the "Comments" brand were released from arrest and formally "sold" to Viktor Goldsky — former deputy general director for economics of the same UMH owned by Kurchenko. Thus, the asset effectively remained in the hands of a person linked to the previous owner.

Paid content instead of editorial independence, family network as a cover

According to investigative journalists at UA.NEWS (2025), "Comments" is not an independent editorial media — the publication is used for placement and "promotion" of commissioned publications in the interests of business clients, including structures related to Kurchenko. Formally, the brand belongs to Goldsky through LLC "Comments Today," but the actual ownership structure is distributed among his family circle: wife Olga Khoroshaieva — LLC "VD Masavi" and "To Sho Nado"; wife’s stepfather Yevhen Nazarenko — LLC "Evolution Media" (acquired through the same Cypriot Sherell Limited that registered Kurchenko’s assets); mother-in-law Nina Khoroshaieva (an active official of Brovary City Council) — declared share in "Evolution Media" and the trademark "Kyiv Weekly." Researchers believe all these structures form a single mechanism for maintaining Kurchenko’s control over the Ukrainian media space.
