About Servant of the People

The political party "Servant of the People" was formed in 2017 based on the renamed "Party of Decisive Changes" and took its name from the eponymous TV series in which Volodymyr Zelensky played the role of the president. Initially, the party did not have a developed structure or resources but rapidly gained popularity during the 2019 presidential campaign.

In 2019, Volodymyr Zelensky, nominated by the party as a candidate, won the presidential election with significant voter support. After this, "Servant of the People" participated in the early parliamentary elections and received 43.16% of the votes, forming Ukraine's first-ever single-party majority in the Verkhovna Rada. This allowed the party to form a government and concentrate key branches of power in one hand.

The initial period of parliamentary work was marked by the rapid adoption of laws, informally called "turbo mode." During this time, a government was formed, positioned as technocratic; however, in 2020, there was a change of the prime minister.

The party actively developed its regional structure and participated in the 2020 local elections, receiving the largest number of deputy mandates nationwide. At the same time, in major cities, it was unable to form a majority or secure key positions.

Despite formal unity, internal disagreements arose within the faction, and some deputies became involved in scandals. In subsequent years, changes in the party and parliamentary leadership affected its internal structure.

With the start of the full-scale war in 2022, the party focused on supporting state decisions and cooperating with other deputies to ensure stability in the country. The party's support level fluctuated depending on the political situation, showing both growth and decline during different periods.
