Head of Moldova’s Foreign Ministry Saw Russian Terror in Kyiv with His Own Eyes

Ukrainian diplomats began the annual Ambassadors’ Conference–2026 with a visit to the site of a Russian strike in Lukianivka and a tribute to the fallen defenders at Independence Square. This was reported by Ukraine’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiha, according to “Hlavkom.”

The honorary guest of the conference, Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova Mihai Popșoi, took part in the event together with the diplomatic corps.

“For every Ukrainian ambassador it is extremely important to see with their own eyes the consequences of Russian aggression and to be a strong voice for Ukraine in every capital and in every headquarters. This year the motto of our conference is focused on the main priorities: restoring peace and Ukraine’s leadership,” emphasized MFA head Andrii Sybiha.

According to the minister, the conference includes a series of working sessions and discussions of the country’s key diplomatic tasks.

Tasks and participants of the meeting

The main purpose of the meeting is to sum up the work of the diplomatic service, ensure coordination of the Ukrainian diplomatic corps, and determine common approaches to implementing foreign policy priorities ahead of the new political season.

The conference program provides for a high-level segment in which the following will participate:

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy;

Head of the MFA Andrii Sybiha;

Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk;

Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi;

First Lady Olena Zelenska; Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov;

First Deputy Head of the OP Serhii Kyslytsia and Deputy Head of the OP Ihor Zhovkva;

First Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Energy Denys Shmyhal;

Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Vsevolod Chentsov.

Within the five-day program there will also be strategic discussions, presentations of new diplomatic, cultural, and humanitarian initiatives, professional trainings, and a regional program aimed at acquainting mission heads with Ukraine’s key challenges amid Russia’s full-scale aggression.

Recall: during Russia’s nighttime attack on Kyiv on the night of 1 August 2026, the occupiers damaged the building of the Lithuanian embassy. Sybiha expressed support for Lithuania, for Minister of Foreign Affairs Kęstutis Budrys, for Ambassador Inga Staņytė-Toločkė, and for the entire Lithuanian diplomatic service, assuring that Ukraine is ready to provide necessary assistance.
