"Kyivstar" may join creation of Ukraine's sovereign AI infrastructure

"Kyivstar" is considering participating in the creation of a national artificial intelligence infrastructure in Ukraine. The company is evaluating options to invest in data centers and could become one of the key participants in such a project.

According to him, the request to develop AI infrastructure

comes from the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Digital Transformation.

The company believes that Ukraine needs its own sovereign

artificial intelligence infrastructure. To create it, it is necessary to combine solutions

from global AI suppliers with Ukrainian technological and infrastructural

capabilities.

Komarov noted that "Kyivstar" has the resources to

develop and finance the relevant infrastructure. At the same time, the company does not yet name the specific amount

of investment or the timelines for project implementation.

Separately, the operator is evaluating possible options for developing data

processing centers. The decision on investments will depend on the required capital expenditures

and the company's target metrics.

In the second quarter of 2026 the EBITDA of "Kyivstar"

increased by 21,1%, to 8,3 billion UAH, and revenue rose by 27%, to 14,9 billion UAH. For

the first half of the year the company's net profit increased by 36,1%, to 7,1 billion UAH.
