Former Press Secretary of Zelensky Discredits Her Former Boss – Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has urged journalists to take a critical stance toward the statements of former Zelensky press secretary Yulia Mendel, emphasizing that her remarks do not reflect the real situation in Ukraine and conflict with the national interests of the state.

This was stated by the MFA spokesperson Georgiy Tikhy on the social network X.

According to him, after Mendel's recent appearances in French media, media representatives should treat her statements with the utmost caution.

“Do not let yourself be misled by statements that in no way reflect the real situation in Ukraine or the activities of the Presidential Office,” Tikhy noted.

The MFA spokesperson stressed that Mendel left the president's team several years ago and, in his words, later earned a reputation as a person who disseminates manipulative statements that systematically echo the narratives of Russian propaganda.

He also said that the former spokesperson cannot be considered a reliable source of information, suggesting that she has become a new public voice after the Russian propagandist Kseniya Fyodorova, whom French authorities decided to expel from the country.

According to French media, the Paris Administrative Court rejected Fyodorova’s appeal against the deportation order and left in force the seizure of her assets, ruling the actions of the French authorities legal.

Earlier, Yulia Mendel, in an interview with the French publication Le Journal du Dimanche, called the president of Ukraine the “main beneficiary of the war,” accused him of authoritarian tendencies, ignored corruption in his circle, and criticized the forced mobilization.

The MFA emphasizes that such statements do not reflect Ukraine's official position.
