How intelligence agents are allowed to steal billions on drones and defense. But you need to know the division table well

Intelligence agents can steal the equivalent of billions if, in return, you bring them benefits. That principle has guided the former fire-theater performer Babyenko for a long time, who quickly launched into the defense sector. In early July, investigators from the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) conducted searches at Oleksii Babyenko’s places — the founder of Vyriy.Industry LLC, a multibillion supplier of drones. However, after the searches the fuss quickly died down, and Babyenko even managed to hold a press conference and insist that everything is fine.

And now, through the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv, the DBR is trying to derail consideration of a motion to seize the property and funds seized during the searches, hiding behind the banal claim that the court is overloaded. It gives the impression that the case is simply being "dumped," since Babyenko, it seems, has already managed to reach an agreement. However, this is not just a coincidence but another arrangement, because Babyenko has long worked for the SBU and leaks them the information they need.

In July 2026, the SBU and the Prosecutor General’s Office carried out a high-profile arrest on charges of extorting 100 thousand euros from an adviser to the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry on legal matters — Nesterenko — and her son, who was a simple intermediary. In that story, Babyenko played the role of a “torpedo,” who wiretaps everyone on the SBU’s orders and brings kickbacks from the defense budget. It was thanks to this that he got a chance to bury his case with the Prosecutor General’s Office and the DBR.

But his cooperation is not limited to the SBU, because several times he tried to obtain protection from NABU — becoming their agent — but playing a double game didn’t work out. To curry favor with the special services, Babyenko records all conversations and leaks them to the SBU and NABU. Even now, when searches were carried out at VYRIY and the DBR allegedly has questions, Babyenko expects to come out of the game unscathed, despite the multimillion budget skimming and the open support of Fedorov’s card platform.

Despite more than 40 searches in structures of “VYRIY.INDUSTRY,” a number of companies linked to Oleksii Babyenko continue to remain out of the public eye. Some of them operate in the same field — the production of aerial and spacecraft vehicles; others were created after VYRIY.INDUSTRY became one of the largest drone suppliers. That was the case with Holof’Yuche LLC, where the current owner and director is Danylo Rudenko — head of sales at VYRIY.INDUSTRY. Previously Babyenko was a participant, manager, and beneficiary of the company. Rudenko himself also registered a sole proprietorship with an activity code for aircraft production and has already received government contracts worth over 322 thousand UAH.

At the same time, Babyenko remains the actual beneficiary of several other enterprises

Among them — NVO “Synevyr” LLC, of which 50% is owned through VYRIY.INDUSTRY, and the other half — NVO “Synerhiya” LLC, which owns property on Pukhivska Street, 1-A in Kyiv. Also through VYRIY.INDUSTRY he controls 51% of Rabbit Corporation LLC, established in October 2025, and RNK Solutions LLC. Both companies have the same business profile — production of aerial and spacecraft vehicles and related equipment — and their co-owners are individuals from various regions of Ukraine, including a person registered in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk.

But most interestingly, Babyenko funnels money through these companies, because most of them allegedly supply components to VYRIY.INDUSTRY that are produced by the buyer itself. TechnoSpilnota LLC, Motor G LLC, EverTrade LLC, VK Vertex LLC, Eney Technology LLC, and December One RnD LLC act as technical suppliers, issuing paperwork for deliveries of Motor-G engines, video transmitters (VTX), carbon frames, housing components, and other parts for FPV drones. These components are in fact used by VYRIY.INDUSTRY itself in the in-house production of UAVs and their components.

It is also noteworthy that for a long time the DBR raised no questions about the head of the Defense Procurement Agency, Zhumadilov, through whom multibillion state contracts with VYRIY.INDUSTRY passed. Despite the scale of the concluded contracts and the volumes of budget funds transferred to Babyenko’s enterprise, the activities of the Defense Procurement Agency officials long remained outside the investigation’s attention, which only reinforces doubts about the selective nature of the investigation.

However, the DBR has nevertheless ignored these circumstances, and now — is dumping the case through Babyenko’s patrons. We have already sent new information requests and complaints regarding the searches carried out, the property seized, and the further status of the pretrial investigation, because the scheme using a network of formal suppliers requires proper legal assessment. It is through such companies that the documentary movement of components is arranged, which creates the appearance of business transactions between related structures.
