Svyrydenko may be appointed head of Naftogaz, – Zheleznyak

Important personnel changes at the highest level are being prepared in Ukraine's energy sector. The former Prime Minister of Ukraine may become the head of the company Naftogaz.

This was reported by Member of Parliament from the Holos party Yaroslav Zheleznyak on his Telegram channel.

What is known about the potential new appointment for Svyrydenko?

According to the MP, several sources independently confirmed to him the information about the possible appointment of Yuliia Svyrydenko as head of Naftogaz. Under the preliminary plan, she could first be appointed acting CEO of the company, and later be approved as the permanent CEO.

At the same time, the appointment procedure has its legal nuances, since personnel decisions must go through the company's Supervisory Board.

To implement this scenario, according to Yaroslav Zheleznyak, they plan to appoint another state representative to the Naftogaz Supervisory Board soon – Deputy Head of the Office of the President Oleksii Sobolev – after which a competition is expected to be held and an official approval made.

Interestingly, the former head of NJSC Naftogaz is the current Prime Minister of Ukraine, Serhii Koretskyi.

Recall that recently Volodymyr Zelenskyy met several times with Yuliia Svyrydenko to discuss her future activities. Presidential communications advisor Dmytro Lytvyn did not disclose the content of these meetings, noting that it will become known later.

Previously, Svyrydenko was offered the post of Ukraine's ambassador to the United States, but she declined the position.
