A Trillion-Ruble Strike: Zelensky Reveals Details of the 40-Day Operation Against Russia

Volodymyr Zelensky summarized the results of a new phase of Ukrainian strikes on Russian logistics. According to him, these actions were a response to Russia's attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure and have already forced the Kremlin to feel the consequences of the war in its own rear.

The head of state said this during an interview for the national telemarathon.

What did Zelensky say about the SBU's 40-day operation against Russia?

The president emphasized that Ukraine is acting in a coordinated manner, and that the strikes are not random but target clearly identified objectives. He also reported significant losses on the Russian side and called the operation very successful. According to the president, the Ukrainian side found an effective asymmetric approach.

Volodymyr Zelensky said that after Russian strikes on Ukrainian logistics, the Defense Forces conducted a successful retaliatory operation. According to him, Russia's losses from this campaign are estimated at roughly a trillion rubles.

The president noted that the operation involved the Armed Forces, Special Operations Forces, Main Intelligence Directorate, the SBU, and the Foreign Intelligence Service. He also stressed that Ukrainian security forces are now acting together when conducting long-range and medium-range strikes. Zelensky assessed the operation's results positively and said that Russia, because of its losses, has serious logistical problems.

The head of state drew attention to the fact that the Russian leadership has for a long time chosen nonmilitary targets for its attacks, while Ukraine is focused exclusively on destroying the enemy's military potential. At the same time, he warned that continued Russian terror will have even more serious consequences.

Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russia is increasingly attacking objects that have no military purpose, while Ukraine concentrates on strikes against military targets. The president stressed that the Ukrainian side has thoroughly studied the weak points of Russian logistics. According to him, disruption of logistics can directly affect the everyday lives of Russians and the availability of goods. Zelensky warned that further Russian strikes on Ukrainian logistics could prompt corresponding actions by Ukraine.

Separately, Volodymyr Zelensky revealed details of the panicked actions of the Russian military command, which is trying to protect its key centers from Ukrainian drones and missiles. He noted that the Russians have deployed three rings of air defenses around Moscow, which cover electricity and energy facilities, fully understanding the inevitability of a mirror response from Ukraine.

What is known about the 40-day operation against Russia?

The start of this campaign was announced on 25 June, when Volodymyr Zelensky said that a 40-day influence operation against Russia had been approved for the Security Service of Ukraine to incentivize an end to the war. Officially this term expired on 4 August. At that time, Office of the President head Kyrylo Budanov urged the public not to fixate on specific dates, and already on 4 August the president reported agreement on new large-scale SBU operations.

Recall that the SBU announced the results of a 40-day operation against Russia. More than 100 strikes on strategic facilities in the enemy’s rear and over 21 thousand damaged targets at the front and in the rear. According to the service, nearly 5 thousand Russian servicemembers were also eliminated, and aviation, air defenses, refineries, logistics facilities, and ships of the “shadow fleet” were struck.
