The Ukrainian government is working to fully meet the updated funding needs of the Defense Forces through the end of 2026. At the same time, the Cabinet is already looking for additional resources and will involve international partners in this effort.

The Cabinet of Ministers is working to cover the updated funding needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the end of 2026. To do this, the government is not only assessing the necessary expenditures but also seeking additional sources of resources, Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi said.

He said he held a meeting attended by the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the finance minister, the acting defense minister, the head of the Foreign Intelligence Service, and the interior minister.

During the meeting they discussed the real updated funding needs of the Defense Forces through the end of the current year. According to the head of government, the Cabinet and the Ministry of Finance are working to fully provide for all necessary expenditures.

At the same time, all domestic tax revenues continue to be directed to the needs of the security and defense sector. The government plans to seek additional resources, in particular through international financial support.

At the same time, the government has begun preparations to fund the Defense Forces in 2027. According to Koretskyi, a vision has already been formed for what defense sector funding should look like next year.

Comprehensive work is currently underway to prepare the state budget for 2027. Thus, the government plans to determine in advance the needs of the defense sector and the resources required to cover them.

Special emphasis is being placed on finding additional funding from international partners. This should help ensure the necessary expenditures without reducing domestic budgetary resources that are directed to the security and defense sector.

Thus, the government's immediate task remains full coverage of the Defense Forces' needs through the end of 2026, and its strategic task is preparing sufficient financial resources for defense expenditures in 2027.
