MON, Honchar Museum and BF "Kolo" sign memorandum on development of Ukrainian traditions in schools, - Hnat Korobko

Materials about Ukrainian traditional culture are being integrated into the modern educational process — this is stated in the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the Ministry of Education and Science, the National Center for Folk Culture "Ivan Honchar Museum" and the charitable foundation "Kolo." Teachers will soon receive ready-made methodological materials for conducting lessons and celebrations in schools from the educational project "Know Your Ukraine." This was reported by patron and co-author of the project Hnat Korobko.

"The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Ivan Honchar Museum and the charitable foundation 'Kolo' have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The goal of the partnership is to systematically integrate authentic traditional culture into modern education through the online course 'Know Your Ukraine.' The course introduces the main holidays and traditions of the annual calendar cycle: Christmas, Pokrova, Kupala and Easter. It will be useful for educators who work with children from preschool age to vocational education, as it contains verified information and methodological materials for lessons," said Hnat Korobko.

He noted that thanks to cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science teachers across Ukraine will gain direct access to unique methodological materials.

"The partnership unites state educational policy, the deep ethnographic expertise of the Ivan Honchar Museum and the practical methodologies of the 'Know Your Ukraine' course. Thanks to the cooperation, educators across the country will receive direct access to scientifically verified knowledge, unique folkloric sources and ready-made methodological materials. We provide teachers with a ready, convenient tool that saves preparation time and turns every lesson or celebration into an exciting journey to their own roots," said Hnat Korobko.

Remember, 'Know Your Ukraine' is an online course about Ukrainian traditional culture that acquaints children and adults with the main holidays of the annual calendar cycle. It is a joint project of the charitable foundation 'Kolo,' the National Center for Folk Culture 'Ivan Honchar Museum,' patron Hnat Korobko and the educational platform EdEra.
