Vinnytsia is updating its public transport fleet – the city received the first two Tram 2000 low-floor trams from Switzerland. They are equipped with a low floor for comfortable movement for people in wheelchairs.

this was announced by Mayor Serhiy Morhunov.

Specialists of the Vinnytsia Transport Company began inspecting the transport before its release on city routes.

The main emphasis during preparation is on ensuring inclusivity. The cars have a low-floor section for convenient use by passengers in wheelchairs. The salons are equipped with two special seats in accordance with local standards.

“We will pay particular attention to ensuring that the trams meet accessibility requirements applicable in Vinnytsia,” Morhunov noted.

As part of the “Zurich Tram” project, it provides:

transfer 23 of low-floor carriages Tram 2000;

supply of necessary spare parts;

provision of special equipment for maintenance.

For reference, new modern low-floor trolleybuses and buses have appeared on the capital’s city routes. The city continues to update its public transport fleet and increase its accessibility.
