Stalker from Kyiv Who Stalked Women for Years Charged

In Kyiv, a 34-year-old man was charged in absentia with a suspicion of violation of the privacy of private life. This is reported by Hlavkom with reference to the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office.

Under the procedural guidance of the Solomianskyi District Prosecutor's Office of Kyiv, a 34-year-old man was charged in absentia with unlawful storage and use of confidential information about women with whom he had met and tried to continue communication despite their attempts to end all contact. His actions are qualified as a violation of the privacy of private life (part 2 of article 182 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine), according to the statement.

It is noted that at present the victims in the case are recognized as 11 women with whom the suspect had acquaintances in various years, starting from 2017 year. After the women did not want further communication, the man persistently wrote, began to search for their pages on social networks, studied their habits and preferences, and later tried to gain access to their accounts in online banking services, messengers, mobile apps, delivery services, and taxi services. At the same time, the victims received constant messages that someone was trying to access their accounts.

“To some of the women, the man sent messages in which he threatened to disclose their personal information, and he also ordered expensive goods to be delivered to their numbers and addresses. The women could not get rid of the nuisance acquaintance for years. It is now known that the man left the country in February 2024 and has not returned to Ukraine since. He has been put on the wanted list,” the prosecutor's office added.

Law enforcement officials emphasize: “At the same time, if you or your relatives have become victims of similar illegal actions by this Kyiv resident, report such facts to the Solomianskyi Police Department of the National Police of Ukraine in Kyiv, which conducts the pretrial investigation.”

Recall that in June, Kyiv authorities opened a criminal case into the systematic stalking of women by a local resident.

Earlier on the Threads social network, dozens of Kyiv women joined a common chat where they shared similar stories of cyberstalking by a man named Viktor V. The stalker tracked women (mostly students) in the Solomianskyi and Darnytskyi districts for years.
