From 18 August the mobile operator introduces changes — service will be switched off: which regions are affected

Kyivstar will begin gradually turning off 3G in three regions of Ukraine. From 18 August after 00:00 the operator will roll out 4G, thanks to which subscribers should get faster mobile internet, writes PMG.ua. The first changes will affect Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Dnipropetrovsk regions. In Ivano-Frankivsk region the switch to 4G will take place in Dolyna, Sniatyn, Horodenka, as well as in Kalush, Verkhovyna, and Ivano-Frankivsk districts. In Dnipropetrovsk region the update will cover Kryvyi Rih and the entire district. In Khmelnytskyi region 4G will be rolled out in Netishyn, Starokostiantyniv, Dunaivtsi, Khmelnytskyi and its district, as well as in Kamianets-Podilskyi. 3G will not be turned off all at once — the transition will be gradual. Most modern smartphones are already compatible with 4G and do not require additional settings. Owners of devices manufactured four, five, or more years ago should check their support for the fourth generation of service. You should also check the SIM card. If it is outdated and does not support 4G, it can be replaced free of charge at Kyivstar stores. At the same time, it is not necessary to change your tariff because of the transition to 4G. The operator will not charge an additional fee, and the tariff price and the amount of mobile internet in the packages will remain unchanged. What will change first and foremost is data transfer speed. For example, downloading a video of 1 GB over 3G may take about an hour, whereas over 4G — approximately 5−10 minutes.
