Zelensky announced new appointments in military command – Suspicion

President Volodymyr Zelensky said that today important military issues were resolved. This is reported by Glavkom citing the president's social media posts.

“Important military issues were resolved today. We discussed personnel proposals. Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mykhailo Drapaty in coordination with Ihor Skibyuk and Yevhenii Khmara proposed a vision for changes. Some decisions are already prepared, more decisions will follow. We discussed in detail the frontline situation — measures to strengthen key directions, including in Donetsk region,” the president emphasized.

Zelensky thanked all units achieving noticeable results in defending Ukrainian positions and destroying Russian occupiers in the areas of Sloviansk, Kostyantynivka, and Drobysivka. He separately noted the drone units of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces for active actions in the designated areas and said that during the meeting further steps were agreed to extend the operational capabilities of Ukrainian troops.

“We discussed in detail the implementation of the plan for long-range sanctions against Russia, as well as our mid-range strikes. Some operations were adjusted, approved, and new operations were planned. Ukrainian accuracy is what allows us not to yield initiative to Russia in the war and to rely on the possibility of diplomatic solutions. I thank every SBSU (Security Service of Ukraine) warrior, our missile forces, the Security Service of Ukraine, and our intelligence for ensuring the execution of Ukraine’s long-range sanctions,” the head of state noted.

The president stressed that significant attention during the meeting was given to air defense issues and the needs to protect frontline and border towns and communities, regional centers, and the capital from Russian attacks. He emphasized that he expects concrete results from Ukraine’s diplomatic team in ensuring the necessary military capabilities.

“The topic of air defense for Ukraine must be at the top of the attention of every leader, every state that can help. Glory to Ukraine!”, Zelensky added.

By the way, 7 in August the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky heard a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Mykhailo Drahpatho. The main focus during the conversation was on the defense of Kostyantynivka, Sloviansk, and the overall situation in Donetsk region.
