Scaling online marriage in Diia: which three new options will launch by year-end

The share of digital marriages in Ukraine rose to 40% in the first half of 2026. The government decided to expand the "Marriage Online" service's functionality by adding delivery of certificates abroad and new inclusive features.

New options

By the end of 2026 the app will step-by-step implement

the following updates:

Re-marriage for widows and widowers in a

fully remote format.

Holding video ceremonies with the involvement of a sign language interpreter

for people with hearing or speech impairments.

Ordering international

delivery of a marriage certificate to 48 countries worldwide.

Testing and phased rollout

International delivery of certificates will first be

launched in test mode in several countries to check the stability

of the system's operation, after which the service's geography will be expanded.

"You asked to add the ability for widows and widowers to marry online

and to receive marriage certificates abroad. We

have taken the public's request into account and are adapting the service to real-life

situations," — the service development team notes.

Recall that in June the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Digital Transformation began beta testing an online divorce service through the Diia app.
