Preparation for Winter: The Energy Headquarters Assessed Gas and Electricity Balances

Today, 10 August, at the meeting of the Energy Headquarters, forecast balances of gas and electricity were reviewed. The assessment was conducted with consideration of several possible scenarios for the winter period.

this was announced by Prime Minister Serhii Koretsky.

The Prime Minister stated that at

the meeting, reports from Energy Minister Denys Shmyhal, as well as leaders of Naftogaz, Ukrenergo, Energoatom,

Ukrhydroenergo, Centrenergo, DTEK, and the Gas Transmission System Operator were heard.

During the meeting, they analyzed the progress of repair work at generation facilities and the construction of additional protective structures.

Key tasks

"I focused everyone on the priorities — protecting critical infrastructure facilities and creating backup reserves of fuel and equipment for rapid restoration of damaged facilities," noted Koretsky.

Participants defined directions where it is necessary to accelerate work given the intensity of Russian shelling. As a result of the headquarters, appropriate orders, coordination, and control over implementation have been assigned to the Ministry of Energy.

Reminder: Earlier it was reported that Ukraine continues preparation for the new heating season. As of 1 August, the necessary works have been completed in 83 553 residential buildings, which accounts for nearly 60% of the planned volume.
