"Google Tax" in Ukraine: how much foreign companies paid

Non-resident companies that provide electronic services to Ukrainian users paid to the budget during seven months 2026 of the year a total of 11,3 billion UAH of the so-called "Google tax." This is 1,5 billion UAH more than in the corresponding period of last year.

a reference to a statement from the State Tax Service.

Foreign companies transferred to the budget 92,8 million euros and

$149,4 million VAT.

Among the largest VAT payers are Google, Apple, Valve,

Meta, Sony, Etsy and Netflix.

Since the beginning of 2026 year, VAT payers in Ukraine

have registered another 18 non-residents who provide electronic services to individuals.

As of 1 August, their total number reached 159.

Obligation to register as a VAT payer arises for a

non-resident if the amount of transactions for the supply of electronic services on the border crossing

territory of Ukraine over the last 12 months exceeds the equivalent of 1 million UAH.

Additionally, for the first quarter of 2026 year, international tech giants paid to the state budget of Ukraine 4,5 million UAH of VAT on electronic services. This is 28% higher compared to the same period last year, when the amount of receipts was 3,5 billion UAH.
