Ukrposhta changes rules: who will have payment procedures simplified

Ukrposhta is simplifying everyday payments. Soon the company will stop requiring the RNOKPP (TIN) for a number of transactions up to 5 thousand hryvnias.

What new rules is Ukrposhta introducing

The new rules will come into effect after the IT systems are updated and the corresponding legal documents are prepared, as stated on the website.

The RNOKPP will not need to be provided when paying cash for mobile phone services;

housing and communal and other services up to 5 thousand hryvnias (except for payments to the budget);

when topping up a bank card with cash up to 5 thousand hryvnias.

Currently Ukrposhta is making changes to its software. In particular, the changes will take effect in branches after the technical update is completed

It will also become easier for customers who carry out several transactions during one visit. If a person has already completed verification with the RNOKPP within a single basket, they will not need to repeat it for each subsequent corresponding service,

Ukrainians were reminded that the discussion began after the company Ukrposhta announced that it would have to introduce changes from 1 August.

Regarding housing and communal payments – the National Bank of Ukraine provided clarification:

for cash payments, the payer’s full name is sufficient;

for cashless payments, the payer’s personal data are not mandatory details on the receipt;

the payment card number when paying by card may be displayed in masked form.

Since this position corresponds to customers’ interests and Ukrposhta’s proposals to minimize personal data, the company is adopting it as a basis and is accordingly changing the service process for payment of housing and communal services,

It is emphasized that the NBU’s position is currently presented only in a public clarification. At the same time, Ukrposhta is proposing that the National Bank continue joint work.

Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilianskyi previously appealed to Ukrainians and urged them to be sure to dispose of receipts with data at home if they do not need them. He added that the company stores all payment information electronically.

The National Bank published information about the situation. The regulator reported that it does not require the tax number or the full payment card number to be indicated on receipts.
