Alina Stryzhak received an award for the best professional journalistic investigation

Alina Stryzhak received the professional distinction of the National Journalistic Investigations Contest for a story about Deputy Prosecutor General Anatolii Danylenko.

The National Annual Award in the genre of journalistic investigations and special reports, founded by Ukrainska Pravda and the Kyiv Post, with the support of the Embassy of the United States of America in Ukraine and the Danish network of investigative journalists SCOOP, announce its establishment.

The Award was created on the basis of the Contest for Young Investigative Journalists, which since 2012 was jointly held by Ukrainska Pravda and the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine, and the Award for the Best Investigation of the Year, which was first presented in 6 June 2014 during the Mezhyhirya Fest.

Prizes were awarded in three categories:

1) Professional investigation – for journalists of all ages for print and video works, where the winner was Hromadske journalist Dmytro Hnap, and a special distinction was given to Alina Stryzhak.

2) Best special report – the Heorhii Gongadze Award. This year the organizers decided that the contest in this category would be entirely dedicated to the genre of “war reporting,” and the winner was Tetiana Shtan, a journalist for the “Fakty Tyzhnia” program on ICTV.

3) Contest for young investigative journalists – for investigators aged from 18 to 26 years, for journalism students and others interested in a journalistic career, where the winner was also a Hromadske journalist from the “Sledstvo.Info” project, Oleksandr Humeniuk.
