Repairs after attacks and winter preparations: Shmyhal reported to Zelensky on the state of the energy sector

First Vice Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal delivered a report on the current situation in the energy sector and on priorities for communication with partners.

Zelensky listened to the report on energy. The Head of State noted that processes to restore electricity supply for Ukrainian families after shelling continue daily. "The challenges are especially acute in the towns and villages of frontline and border regions with Russia. It is important that the necessary stocks of equipment have been formed," he said. The President thanked all specialists in the sector for their truly professional and selfless work. Work with partners According to Zelensky, tasks have been identified for work with Ukraine’s partners in the near term: political, financial, and purely technical arrangements. This concerns current needs now, in August, and also in September, before the start of the heating season. "We count on the support of specific states. For security reasons we are not disclosing the details at this time," he clarified. Earlier, RBC-Ukraine wrote that the Energy Headquarters held another meeting. In particular, directions of work were outlined to speed up the restoration of energy facilities damaged by Russian shelling, Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhii Koretskyi said.

It was also reported that at the initiative of the Ministry of Energy the Government adopted decisions for a more effective distribution of electricity. The changes concern critically important facilities, Shmyhal reported. In addition, in early July Shmyhal said that the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is preparing a new stage of pressure on Ukraine. Now the main targets of attacks could become not electricity but water supply and sewage.
