Zelensky Revealed Details of the Upcoming Drone Deal with Belgium – Pidozra

Teams from the two countries have already begun work on the wording of the document and discussed potential dates for its signing.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky spoke with Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation Maxim Prévot about the future Drone Deal. The parties also raised the issue of strengthening Ukraine’s defense against Russian strikes. This is reported by Glavkom citing the head of state.

According to Zelensky, during the meeting the sides discussed nearly all directions of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The president emphasized that Belgium had significantly helped Ukraine in strengthening its combat aviation. Kyiv also values Brussels’ willingness to continue its support.

“I hope that we will be able to implement what we talked about, and there will be more protection from Russian strikes. Ukraine is also ready to share its experience and expertise and to support partners who have been with us since the start of the war: our teams are now working on the Drone Deal text, and we discussed potential signing dates,” Zelensky said.

The president did not specify concrete dates for possible signing of the Drone Deal. He did not reveal other details about the document’s content either. The head of state separately thanked Belgium for its financial assistance to Ukraine.

For reference, Belgium’s Foreign Minister Maxim Prévot explained his country’s position on using frozen Russian assets for Ukraine’s benefit. He stressed that Belgium’s refusal to unilaterally use these funds does not mean a refusal to support Kyiv.
