CEO of the Defense Procurement Agency Zhumadilov Submitted a Resignation Letter – Media

CEO of the Defense Procurement Agency (DPA) Arsen Zhumadilov may leave his post on 1 September. This was reported by ZN.UA and journalist and member of the Public Anti-Corruption Council at the Ministry of Defense Tetiana Nikolaienko.

According to ZN.UA’s sources, Zhumadilov has already submitted a resignation letter. At the same time, the Ministry of Defense has not yet officially confirmed the personnel changes or announced a corresponding order.

Acting head of the DPA could be Artem Romaniukov, who currently leads the Ministry of Defense’s Digitalization Department. According to the outlet, he is linked to former Minister of Defense Mykhailo Fedorov.

Nikolaienko also reported that after Zhumadilov’s departure part of his team might also leave the Agency. According to her, the head of the DPA is planned to be selected on a competitive basis going forward.

Zhumadilov previously headed “Medical Procurement of Ukraine,” and later became head of the State Rear Operator (SRO), which is responsible for procuring nonlethal supplies for the Ministry of Defense.

Later the Defense Procurement Agency, which handles weapons procurement, was transferred under his management. This happened after then-Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov did not renew the contract with Maryna Bezrukova, who had led the DPA.

As a result, the SRO and the DPA were later merged into a single structure.

If the information about Zhumadilov’s resignation is confirmed, it will mark another personnel change in the defense procurement system. The Ministry of Defense has no official position yet regarding the future leadership of the DPA.
