In Muzychi the Memorial Cup for Serviceman Yevhen Chaika Took Place

In Muzychi of the Bilohorodka community, the football Memorial Cup was held in honor of local resident and serviceman Yevhen Chaika. During the tournament, participants and guests raised 14 560 hryvnias to support his son.

This was reported to KV by Bilohorodka village head Anton Ovsiyenko.

“Today in Muzychi football became a language of remembrance and gratitude. The Memorial Football Cup for Yevhen Chaika was held here — our fellow villager, Defender of Ukraine, a person who from the first days stood to defend his native Muzychi, his community, and later our country,” the statement reads.

Teams from Muzychi, Luka, Horenychi, and Knyazhychi joined the tournament. The first kick of the ball was taken by the son of the fallen Defender, Yaroslav Chaika. His parents were also present at the opening.

According to the competition results, the Knyazhychi team won. Second place went to Horenychi Junior, third to the Muzychi team. Luka finished fourth, Horenychi took fifth place, and Muzychi Junior was sixth. After the tournament, the winning team presented the cup to Yevhen Chaika’s mother.

During the event, 14 560 hryvnias were also collected and handed over to the fallen Defender’s son, Yaroslav.

The tournament was organized by Yevhen’s friends — Dmytro Tsvirkun and Serhiy Nesterov — with support from the Bilohorodka Village Council’s Department of Youth and Sports. The Muzychi starosta (head) of the starostynskyi district, Mariia Masovets, team participants, and local residents also helped organize it.

Recall that the General Assembly of the All-Ukrainian Association of United Territorial Communities was held in Kyiv, where delegates re-elected the leadership and discussed current issues with the relevant minister. The Bilohorodka community also took part in the meeting.
