In Odesa, a man in uniform got into a conflict with a child: TCC has launched an investigation

In Odesa, a formal internal review has been initiated over a conflict between a man in military uniform and a teenager. A video of the incident circulated on social media.

The trigger for the military’s response was a video recording that has been spreading online. The footage shows a confrontation involving a minor boy and a man in military uniform. After the footage was published, the Odesa regional military enlistment office and conscription service (TsVK and SP) launched an official internal investigation. All circumstances of the incident, the preconditions for the conflict, and the individuals captured in the video are being clarified. The military commissariat emphasized that they hold a principled stance on any violations by service members. "Any acts of violence, abuse of power, or inappropriate behavior toward civilians are unacceptable. If guilt and involvement of service members in an offense are confirmed, the responsible individuals will be held accountable in accordance with the current laws of Ukraine," the department stated. The TsVK also urged the public and media to "refrain from premature conclusions" and not to disseminate unverified information until the official completion of the investigation. As a reminder, investigators have revealed new details of tortures in one of the Odessa TsVKs. One man was struck by a service vehicle, another was strangled and forced to reveal his phone password.

Note that at the beginning of August it became known that the number of suspects in the torture case at one of the Odessa TsVKs had risen to thirteen. Investigators established the involvement of four more staff members of the military commissariat in illegal detention and assault of citizens, in addition to the nine previously exposed participants in the group.
