Zelensky has appointed Yuriy Pohribnyi as new Commander of the Logistics Forces – Center for Investigative Journalism

President Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Yuriy Pohribnyi as the new Commander of the Logistics Forces.

The corresponding decree №731/2026 has been published on the website of the President of Ukraine.

“Appoint Pohybnyi Yuriy Ivanovych as Commander of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the document says.

By decree №730/2026 the President dismissed Volodymyr Karpenko from the post of Commander of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Yuriy Pohribnyi has fought against the Russian occupiers since 2014 and was part of an artillery brigade, helped liberate Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, and Lyman. In 2016 he took the position of deputy commander of the 58-th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade with armor. In 2020 he headed the 532-th Separate Repair and Recovery Regiment. He provided technical maintenance for troops on the Kharkiv, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia directions.

In 2024 he became the head of armament — deputy chief of logistics of the Eastern Operational Command. Later he led the logistics of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he successfully implemented the NATO system of automated transportation management (TMS) for transport.

After the appointment of Mykhailo Drapato as Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Pohribnyi became the interim acting commander of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
