Former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba stated that Ukraine needs to hold presidential and parliamentary elections. In his words, this should be done before the war ends.

He said this in an interview with News.LIVE journalist Halyna ostapovets.

Why Ukraine needs presidential and parliamentary elections

According to Kuleba, elections should be organized before the end of hostilities to restore political stability and change the form of governance.

“I believe that both presidential and parliamentary elections should be held. In my ideal world, the president would remain in office until the end of the war, President Zelensky would be reelected, and a new full-fledged coalition would form in parliament, in which the president's party could be one of the participants, but not a one-party majority,” the former minister said.

He added that such an approach would distribute responsibility for the country among different political forces, and the coalition would handle what is enshrined in the Constitution.

Also, Kuleba said that after peace returns, citizens will be able to change the parliament again to maintain balance.

As News.LIVE reported, in the same interview Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine no longer needs revolutions. He said that updating the political system is needed through elections, not a forceful coup.
