Parliamentary Factions Held Meetings with Khmara and Sybiga. Servant of the People Endorsed the Candidates (updated)

Yesterday, the dialogue ran for more than five hours.

This morning, meetings continued between members of parliament from the parliamentary factions and groups with candidates for the positions of Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs — Yevhenii Khmara and Andrii Syhyba.

This was reported by the press service of the Verkhovna Rada.

It is noted that yesterday the dialogues lasted more than five hours.

“We talked about the tasks and challenges facing the state, as well as the candidates’ vision of the key priorities of work. After all, we are talking about heads of ministries whose work largely determines the country’s defense capability, Ukraine’s positions on the international arena, and its strategic goals,” the message says.

Members of parliament emphasize the importance of constant dialogue between the Government and Parliament, a common understanding of priorities, and coordinated work on decisions and legislative initiatives.

Additional note. The Servant of the People faction supported the candidates Khmara and Syhyba, its leader Davyd Arahamiya said.

“The faction supports Vladimir Zelensky and the candidates he proposed,” he said.

Arahamiya believes that Andrii Syhyba is an “experienced diplomat, a strong team member whom we all know well,” who does not require additional recommendations and should continue his work.

Regarding Khmara, the deputy said that he repeatedly risked his life for the country.

“He has proven himself well in military service and in carrying out the duties of Minister of Defense. Yevhenii Khmara outlined the work priorities: to continue taking the strategic initiative, transfer the war to enemy territory, protect human capital, develop technologies and the defense-industrial complex. Yevhenii Khmara advocates preserving the positive成果 and people who have proven themselves well in the Ministry of Defense. The faction shares his views and will support his candidacy in the hall,” he said.

As reported, yesterday President Volodymyr Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada proposals for appointing Khmara as Minister of Defense and Syhyba as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
