Parents in the capital can monitor preschool waiting lists on the services portal

A new feature has launched on the Kyiv Services Portal that makes the process of enrolling in municipal preschool institutions clearer and more predictable for parents.

This was reported to KV by the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the Kyiv City State Administration (Kyiv City State Administration).

From now on, in the Registries section you can see how many applications have already been submitted to each kindergarten, which groups they are for, and how many vacant spots are available.

“Previously, parents could only see their own position on the waiting list for the chosen institution. At the same time, that information did not give a complete picture of admission prospects, since groups in kindergartens are formed separately depending on the children’s ages — nursery, younger, middle, and older,” the statement says.

Now parents can assess the situation specifically for the needed age group and better plan their next steps. In particular, the new functionality allows parents to:

see group occupancy and the number of vacant spots;

evaluate admission prospects to the chosen institution;

if necessary, timely consider another kindergarten or alternative care options;

receive up-to-date information online without additional inquiries to the institution’s administration.

The update also increases the transparency of the electronic system’s operation. Parents can track changes in the queue, including those related to confirmation of benefits and other priorities provided for by law.

As noted at KP “HIOts”, digital educational services continue to be developed taking parents’ needs into account. Displaying the queue by age groups should make the kindergarten enrollment process more transparent and understandable, as well as give families more information for planning. The next step will be displaying a child’s personal place on the waiting list in the parental account on the Portal.
