Consumers in Four Regions Left Without Electricity: Where the Power Is Out

19 August, due to hostilities and shelling of the energy infrastructure, a portion of consumers in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kharkiv oblasts remain without power temporarily.

As reported by Delo.ua, this was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

It is noted that energy workers are operating in a heightened mode to restore electricity for all subscribers as quickly as possible, and repair work is ongoing around the clock.

According to the Ministry of Energy, also due to bad weather, 300 populated areas in Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Cherkasy oblasts remain without power. Repair crews are working to restore it.

Regarding the application of restrictions

The Ministry of Energy noted that 19 August no restrictions are forecast. For any changes in power supply, check the official resources of your regional energy company.

The department called consumers to use electricity sparingly during peak consumption hours in the morning and evening. This helps reduce the load on the system.

Light without schedules until autumn

Summer 2026 in Ukraine is marked by energy balancing: despite more optimistic forecasts, outage schedules operated 30 in June and 1 in July.

The main risks remain massive shelling and the summer heat, which traditionally coincide with planned repairs of nuclear power plants. At the same time, even rapid development of solar generation cannot fully cover the deficit, as Ukraine still critically lacks industrial batteries to cover evening demand peaks.

The chairman of the board of Ukrenergo, Vitaliy Zaychenko, stated that power outages for 5 hours per day in Ukraine are possible under conditions of simultaneous heat and new Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.
