Power Outages Begin in Zaporizhzhia After Russian Attack

After Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia, the city experienced power outages. Due to the attacks, residential buildings were damaged, there are casualties and injuries, and dozens of people remain in hospitals.

Zaporizhzhia continues to recover from a series of Russian attacks in which residential buildings and electrical infrastructure were damaged. In some parts of the city, there may be power outages. "Because of the enemy strike, in some districts of Zaporizhzhia there may be power supply interruptions," wrote Fedorov. According to Zaporizhzhiaoblenergo, Russian shelling damaged electrical equipment, leaving a significant number of consumers without power. Utilities have already begun restoration work, and infrastructure facilities have been switched to alternative power sources. Night of 19 August, a Russian drone damaged multi-story buildings, and in the morning the occupiers struck CAB on the private sector. In total, eight apartment buildings and eight private houses were damaged. There are casualties and injuries as a result of the strikes. In regional hospitals there remain 56 injured aged from 5 to 87 years, among them five children. 13 people are in a severe condition. Utility services are on the ground: closing shattered windows and helping residents restore damaged houses.

As a reminder, earlier in Zaporizhzhia district a Russian drone attacked agricultural machinery during harvest. A 32-year-old man was killed, another person was injured and is under medical supervision.
